Tori

Tori’s Path to Trust

Tori came into our lives on a TNVR spay day, the kind of day where anything can happen- and sometimes, everything does. We received a call no trapper ever wants to get: one of the cats had given birth inside the trap. Just hours old, Tori’s four tiny babies and their momma suddenly became our responsibility, and we made room for them without hesitation- because that’s what doing the right thing looks like.

Those first days were heartbreaking. The kittens became very sick, likely exposed before their immune systems had a chance to grow strong. Despite every effort, we lost two of the babies. Tori, though, never gave up. She poured every ounce of love she had into the two who survived, raising them into healthy, thriving kittens who eventually went on to find homes of their own.

Tori wasn’t ready for life with people. She had come from a place where cats weren’t safe, where fear was learned the hard way. So we gave her something better- a protected yard, a tree she claimed as her own, and a colony of kitty friends to keep her company. For two years, she kept her distance, watching from above, slowly learning that this world could be gentle.

And then, one day, everything changed.

Little by little, Tori began to lean into touch. A soft head-butt here. A brave step closer there. Nearly three years after she arrived, on Christmas, Tori made the choice for herself- she decided to try a new life inside.

Now, Tori is the biggest biscuit maker you’ll ever meet. She purrs so hard she drools happy little bubbles when she’s being loved on. She’s cat and dog friendly, adores lounging on her cat shelves, and gains confidence every single day. She meows to her kitty friends, gives gentle kisses and head-butts.

But sometimes, the right home isn’t here.

Because there are simply too many cats in South Florida and not enough homes.

So Tori became one of the lucky ones. She was chosen to go on transport and took her freedom flight to New Hampshire, where families are waiting to adopt cats just like her. We are so grateful for our rescue partners who help make these life-saving transports possible.

Tori waited a long time for her chance.

Now it’s finally her turn.

Have the most amazing life, sweet girl. We love you so much.
