BUG
Bug’s Beautiful Beginning
(A Happy Tail in Progress)
Meet Bug, one of the most loving cats I’ve ever had the joy of fostering.
Leyanis and I were out in Clewiston on a TNVR day, helping with a large colony that had recently come to her attention. As soon as we arrived, the very first cat to greet me was a frail little grey girl, covered in scabs and sores. Her skin was red and raw in patches, her eyes squinting and irritated, and her coat was patchy with mange. Hanging from her belly were two large masses.
This was no ordinary TNVR case.
This cat needed more—she needed help.
She was coming home with me.
Thanks to my incredible vet team at Sunshine Veterinary Hospital, they got us in right away. The plan: heal her mange and yeast infection, let her immune system recover, then prepare her for spay surgery and mass removal, with biopsies to determine if the masses are mammary cancer or benign. We’re taking it step by step.
And in the meantime?
Bug is being spoiled like she deserves.
She’s getting all the wet food, treats, and her absolute favorite—cuddles—that she wants. From the moment you walk in the room, Bug starts purring. She follows you everywhere, jumps in your lap the second she can, and gives nonstop kisses, head-butts, and biscuits. She is pure love.
It’s hard to imagine how such a sweet soul in her condition survived the streets for so long, but those days are over now. She’s safe, she’s healing, and she knows she’s loved.
Bug still has a journey ahead of her—but she’s facing it with strength, joy, and trust. We hope the perfect family sees her soon, one who will give her the forever home she has waited her whole life for.
Until then, she’s home with us.
And this—this—is why we do it.
Stay tuned for updates on Bug’s surgery and recovery. She’s got a fan club now—we’re so glad you’re part of it!
